EZDebride is a single-use, disposable sharp debridement instrument designed by a surgeon to let clinicians - even with little or no prior debriding experience - confidently and precisely remove non-viable tissue and bioburden. Its counter-balanced head and cutting flutes create a uniform cutting plane, while the flexible neck and ergonomic handle give precise control, especially over larger wound areas.
Clinical evaluation of EZDebride found it easy to use, effective at removing slough and necrotic material without needing to supplement with other instrumentation, and associated with only a minimal increase in patient-reported pain (0.6 points on average). Post-debridement fluorescence imaging showed a 25-75% reduction in bacterial burden, and hemostasis was easily achieved with direct pressure.
